Gemstone Institute of Advanced Studies is affiliated with Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria — built around a single conviction: that the right environment, the right faculty, and the right pathway can transform any diligent student's future.
GIAS was established to address a specific, unsentimental fact: tens of thousands of qualified Nigerian students are denied university admission each year. Our entire institution — three hectares, every laboratory, every lecture hall, every member of staff — is purpose-built around the IJMB programme.
The result is a focused, residential, one-year experience: short enough to be efficient, deep enough to prepare you for university-level work, and credentialed by the body that pioneered the qualification.
“Our mission is to bridge the gap between the potential student and the university — through the provision of an alternative means of admission. Every student who walks through our gates should leave with a clear pathway and the academic foundation to walk it.”
A team of educators, administrators, and legal counsel who steward the institute, working to the standards of ABU Zaria.
